Cloth menstrual pads are not only more comfortable, they are also a healthier alternative to disposable pads.  Cloth menstural pads, also known as cloth mama pads or mama cloth, do not contain harmful chemicals like those found in most disposable maxi pads.  Many women are switching to a more natural choice.

Fresh Moon SnapOn cloth menstrual pads are an interchangeable system that allows you to customize your day-to-day absorbency needs. A fast drying SnapOn system consisting of a trim body and soakers; you choose what 'snaps on'.

Choose from wool or polyester fleece as a barrier body. Pair them with light/medium flow soakers or the new medium/heavy double soakers. For lighter flow, simply snap on the single soaker pad; for medium or heavier flow, use the new fold-under double soaker. You can use the bodies through 2-4 soaker changes depending on your flow, and arrange different combinations to customize for your personal cycle pattern.

Fresh Moon cloth sanitary napkins are the perfect compliment to natural sea sponge tampons. A fantastic alternative to conventional tampons and feminine hygene products!

Wash your cloth mentrual pads right along with your cloth diapers and save time and energy!

Did you know...

Tampons have been linked to chronic and recurrent vaginitis?

Washing Instructions

Rinse pads in cold water and store in a small pail. One option to prevent stains from setting in is to apply oxygen bleach or Bac Out to stained areas.

At the end of your cycle or when you are in need of fresh pads, do a cold rinse followed by a hot wash. Use about 1/4 of the detergent as these fabrics are very absor-bent and will be difficult to rinse thoroughly if you use too much detergent.

Add oxygen bleach, Tea Tree Oil or Bac Out to your wash cycle to help prevent stains.

We recommend an extra rinse cycle to assure that all of the detergent is removed. Residue may cause skin irritations and/or absorbency issues.

TIP! If you are washing cloth diapers, throw your pads in with Baby's loads and save time, money, energy and water!

Bodies
Contoured holder with wings that wrap around the underwear and have two snap closure settings. 9" R/P has two sockets to attach the soakers, while the 11" L/W and 13" SPP have three. Wool and fleece are considered barrier bodies and will help prevent leaks on your underwear and pants. Snap-on pads not available in 7"Mini Thong.

Bodies can be reused by snapping in a clean soaker pad; much like a diaper cover they can be spot clean and air dried for use later that day.  Wool should be hand washed and line dried while the WinPro can be machine washed and dried with no special care requirements.

Sizing options for Bodies

R/P: 9" Regular/Petite
L/W: 11" Long/Wide
SPP: 13" Super/Postpartum

Note: the 13" body accommodates both the Super 13" and Postpartum 14" soakers.

Did you know...

Roughly 12 billion sanitary pads are land filled or incinerated in the US each year?

A woman throws away 10,000 pads or tampons in her lifetime?

Manufacturers of tampons and pads are not legally required to list ingredients used in making feminine products – products we wear next to our most vulnerable parts?

Most feminine hygiene products produced in North America are made using chlorine gas or chlorine dioxide bleached wood pulp, leaving trace amounts of dioxins and furans (the most toxic chemicals on earth)?

Soakers

Soakers are contoured snap-on pads with snap studs to attach to the body. R/P 9“ has two sockets to attach to the body; L/W 11” and SPP 13” have three. Available in Single, Double & Postpartum. Also available but without snaps, are Simple Liners.

Single soakers are suitable for light to medium flow; typically having 3 layers of absorbent fabrics.

Double Soakers are extra long soaker that folds under and snaps to itself before being attached to the body piece, creating a soaker that is twice as absorbent as a single. Double Soakers are suited for medium to heavy flow. Topping fabrics are sewn to the top-facing portion of the soaker only.

Postpartum Soakers are 14" and extra wide with flared ends for maximum coverage especially while lying down. Internally sewn soaker for extra absorbency. These can be worn inside full-cut underwear alone (without SnapOn body) as well.

Simple Liners are bodies without the snap sockets. These are great as panty liners, suitable for light flow or as back up for tampons, sea sponge tampons or Keepers.

Sizing for Soakers and Simple Liners:

M/T: 7" Mini/Thong (no snaps)
R/P: 9" Regular/Petite (also available in Simple Liners without snaps)
L/W: 11" Long/Wide
S: 13" Super
PP: 14" Post Partum

Fabric choices for soakers. Our first two choices are the most natural. Organic cotton is certified organic, grown and processed without the use of chemicals. Natural Hemp is not certified organic, but it is grown without pesticides, herbicides and synthetic fertilizers. Both fabrics are unbleached.

Our second two options are certainly healthier than most dipsosable pads but do contain unnatural products. The dyed hemp is hand-dyed using. The fleece-topped hemp is topped with micro-fleece, a synthetic fabric that keeps one feeling dryer since it does not absorb much moisture. Instead, the moisture passes through to the absorbant hemp underneath.

Tips for ordering

Wondering how many bodies and soakers should you buy? This is dependant on how long your cycle is, how heavy or light your flow is and how often you are willing to wash.

You will need 4-6 soakers and 1-2 bodies per light/medium days. For heavy days, plan on 6-8 soakers and 2-4 bodies

At night, you will want to use longer pads, either 11" or 13" and double soakers.

When choosing the size of your soakers and bodies, this is really up to your personal preference, body type and flow. Obviously, the longer sizes are more suited for heavier flows but some women find that the 9" works well even on heavier days.
